The Book, ALEX OTTI, THE HERO, Launching This December

ALEX OTTI, THE HERO: NEW BOOK CELEBRATING ABIA’S GOVERNOR TO BE UNVEILED THIS DECEMBER

A new book celebrating the leadership, public service and achievements of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, is set to be officially unveiled in Umuahia this December.

Titled ALEX OTTI, THE HERO, the book is authored by Nigerian writer and publisher, Onuegbu, Charles Izundu, and its physical launch is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State.

The publication is designed to document Governor Otti’s political journey, leadership experience and the major developments recorded during his administration. It also examines the governor’s professional background, his rise from the banking industry into public service, and the political journey that eventually brought him to the Abia Government House.

A record of leadership and development
Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Otti has placed infrastructure, healthcare, education, transportation, power and public-sector reforms among the priorities of his administration.

Among the major figures highlighted in this book is the completion of 414 road projects, and many more roads after that, covering more than 864.12 kilometres, in all, by the Otti-led administration’s first three years in office, including a litany of other achievements all chronicled in the Hero Book.

Why the book matters
According to the author’s concept, the project, ALEX OTTI, THE HERO is intended to preserve an account of the governor’s political and administrative journey while presenting the developments in Abia State to readers at home and abroad.

The book is also expected to contribute to public discussion about leadership, accountability, governance and the future direction of Abia State.

Its publication comes at a politically significant period, as the state approaches another election cycle. Governor Otti has already begun political activities connected with the 2027 Labour Party campaign, according to reports published by the state government.

December 5: Date with readers in Umuahia
The physical launch will take place in Umuahia on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The event is expected to bring together invited guests, supporters of the publication, stakeholders and members of the reading public.

The author, Onuegbu, Charles Izundu, describes the publication as an opportunity to document a period of political and developmental change in Abia State.

Reward Root Blog’s observation: A leader’s legacy should be assessed not only through praise or political loyalty but also through documented achievements, public accountability and the experiences of ordinary citizens. ALEX OTTI, THE HERO seeks to add to that conversation by preserving an account of Governor Otti’s journey and administration for present and future readers.

The countdown to the December 5 launch has begun.
